Client works on a major producing asset team. Customer is evaluating whether to inject steam to improve the production. Injecting the steam would increase the temperature of the formation reducing the viscosity of the oil. The team had many wells where they have taken temperature readings and wanted a quick way to demonstrate to management just how successful a steam program would be.
Decisions:
- How do higher temperature wells compare to the lower temperature counterparts?
- How much production should you expect for each degree of temp increase?
The resulting analysis was able to clearly demonstrate the economic benefits of increasing the temperature of the formation within five minutes from installation.
